These air fryer mozzarella sticks are crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and perfectly golden without all the mess of deep frying. I just coat the mozzarella in a crispy breadcrumb mixture, pop them in the air fryer, and in less than 10 minutes, I got a batch of melt-in-your-mouth cheesy goodness.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 14.1 oz Block Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1.4 oz Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper, freshly cracked
  • Oil Spray

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mozzarella: Cut the mozzarella into strips, roughly 1.5cm (5/8in) wide, and pat dry using kitchen paper.
    14.1 oz Block Mozzarella Cheese
  • Prepare Bread Crumbs and Egg Wash: In a shallow dish, mix together the flour and the garlic granules. In another dish, beat the egg with a generous amount of salt and pepper. Spread the breadcrumbs in a separate dish.
2 tbsp All Purpose Flour, 1 tsp Garlic Powder, Kosher Salt, Black Pepper, freshly cracked, 1 Egg, 1.4 oz Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Make the Mozzarella Sticks: Roll the mozzarella strips in flour, then in egg, then in flour and egg again, to create a double coating. Make sure each piece is totally covered in flour each time; any gaps will cause the mozzarella sticks to leak in the air fryer. Coat well in panko breadcrumbs. Freeze for at least 30 minutes until solid.
  • Cook the Mozzarella Sticks: Carefully add the sticks to the basket of the Typhur Dome 2 air fryer in a single layer. Spray the cheese sticks evenly with oil. Cook the mozzarella sticks by following the below setting:
    Cooking Mode: Air Fryer
    Temperature: 390°F (200℃)
    Time: 10 Minutes
  • Serve: Remove the sticks from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving tray or plate. Serve and enjoy!
