Boneless, skinless chicken breast is a go-to option for people seeking a low-fat, high-protein meat source.
Unfortunately, it often gets a bad rap as being bland and unappetizing compared to other cuts of meat. This reputation may stem from the fact that it’s easy to overcook and dry out, leading to a less-than-satisfying eating experience.
But fear not, today we have an exciting recipe that will dispel these notions with an amazing air fryer chicken breast that’s moist and tender on the inside while being crispy on the outside.
Why air fryer chicken breast?
The air fryer works by circulating hot air around the food at high speed, creating a similar effect to deep-frying but with significantly less oil. This combination of rapid heating and direct air circulation results in shorter cooking times in the air fryer compared to using an oven.
So, air frying chicken breast indeed offers several advantages:
- Healthier option: Using an air fryer significantly reduces the amount of oil needed for cooking. As a result, air-fried chicken breast tends to be lower in calories and fat compared to deep-fried alternatives.
- Crispy texture: The air fryer’s circulation of hot air helps create a crispy outer layer on the chicken breast, similar to the texture achieved through deep frying. This gives the chicken a satisfying crunch without the excess oil.
- Time-saving: Air fryers generally cook food faster than traditional ovens. Chicken breast, being a lean and relatively thin cut, cooks particularly quickly in an air fryer. This can be convenient when you want to prepare a meal in a shorter amount of time.
- Even cooking: The air fryer’s circulating hot air ensures even cooking of the chicken breast, resulting in a consistent texture throughout. This helps avoid undercooked or overcooked spots, ensuring a tender and juicy chicken breast.
- Easy cleanup: Air fryers are known for their easy cleanup process. They typically have removable and dishwasher-safe parts, making it convenient to clean up after cooking.
How long to cook chicken breast in air fryer?
Cooking time for chicken breast in an air fryer will depend on a few factors, including the size and thickness of the chicken breast, as well as the specific model of the air fryer.
The air fryer we are using is Typhur Dome™ Air Fryer. It has been improved even more, its cooking speed is 30% faster than other leading air fryers.
So, set Typhur Dome™ Air Fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes is the recommended cooking time and temperature for your chicken breast.
And, it supports connecting to Typhur App to track your cook in real time.
When following these instructions, it’s important to consider the thickness and size of the chicken breast you’re cooking. Thicker chicken breasts may require slightly longer cooking times, while thinner ones may cook faster.
It’s always a good idea to use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 150°F (65°C) for safe consumption.

Boneless, skinless chicken breast
Boneless, skinless chicken breast is a lean cut of meat that’s high in protein and low in fat, making it an excellent choice for those who want to maintain a healthy diet.
Freshly cracked black pepper and kosher salt
Freshly cracked black pepper and kosher salt are used to season the chicken breasts and add a depth of flavor without adding any extra calories or fat. These seasonings also help to tenderize the chicken and balance out its natural flavors.
Extra virgin olive oil
Extra virgin olive oil is used sparingly to coat the chicken breasts before cooking. This helps to prevent them from sticking to the air fryer basket and adds a small amount of healthy fat to the recipe. The oil also helps to create a crispy exterior on the chicken breast.
Step 1: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F/190°C to ensure even cooking and achieve that crispy exterior.
Step 2: Coat each chicken breast with a drizzle of olive oil to enhance its flavor and juiciness. Then, generously season the chicken with salt and freshly cracked black pepper or any of your favorite herbs and seasonings.
Step 3: Carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket or tray, making sure not to overcrowd them. Return the tray back to the air fryer.
Step 4: Check the chicken’s internal temperature using a thermometer after about 15-18 minutes of cooking. If the temperature has reached 150°F, remove the chicken breast from the air fryer. If needed, cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 5: Using tongs, carefully remove the cooked chicken breasts from the air fryer and place them on a plate or serving tray.
