Prepare the Potatos: Peel and dice potatoes and place in a medium pot. Pour at least an inch of cold water into the pot. Add a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook until tender (about 20 minutes). When potatoes are cooked, remove from pot and place in a bowl with 3 tbsp butter. Mash with a fork or potato masher, taste, and season with salt and pepper.
Sauté the Vegetables: Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and carrot and cook until softened. Add peas and corn and cook for 2 min.
5 tbsp Unsalted Butter, 1 White Onion, 1/2 cup Carrots, 1/4 cup Cooked Corn Kernels, 1/4 cup Pea
Cook the Ground Beef: Add ground beef to pot with onion and vegetables. Cook until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper. Add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth or water. Bring broth to a boil, then reduce heat. Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes, adding more beef broth as necessary to prevent the meat from drying out.
1 1/2 cup Ground Round Beef, 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce, 1/2 cup Beef Broth
Assemble Casserole: Layer the meat mixture and mashed potatoes in a casserole dish. Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly in a large casserole dish. Spread the mashed potatoes on top.
Preheat and Start Cooking: Set the oven to Bake mode at 215°C, preheat ON, and baking time 18 minutes. Press the "Start Cooking" button to start preheating. Once preheated, place the pie on the roasting pan and insert it into Level 2.
Remove the Shepherd's Pie from Oven: Using oven gloves, carefully remove the Shepherd's Pie from the oven.
