Preheat the oven to 450℉(230℃).
In a small bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, salt, thyme, rosemary, and black pepper.
1 cup Unsalted Butter, 1.4 oz Garlic Clove, 3 tbsp Fresh Thyme Leaves, 3 tbsp Fresh Rosemary Leaves, finely chopped, 2 tbsp Crushed Black Pepper, 2 tbsp Kosher Salt
Remove prime rib from the fridge 2 to 3 hours before cooking, and allow it to come to room temperature. After the prime rib has come to room temperature, pat it down with paper towels to make sure it's dry. Then rub the entire outside of the prime rib with the herb butter mixture.
6 pounds Standing Rib Roast
To ensure accuracy, insert the probe into the thickest part of the meat, making sure the safety line is completely immersed.
Select beef→ roast→ prime rib in the parameters list. Set the target temperature to 125℉. Place the ribs on the oven tray, then place the oven tray on a rack in the oven.
To begin the process, press the start button on your phone. Cook the prime rib in the center of the oven for 20 minutes at 450℉(230℃). It should get a nice sear on the outside. If not, cook it a few minutes longer. Then reduce the temperature of the oven to 325°F(160°C) and continue cooking for about 1 hour. You will be notified when the ribs are ready to come out of the oven.
Using a pair of oven gloves, carefully remove the tray with the ribs and transfer to a heat-resistant surface. Let rest for at least 15 minutes. (Note: the internal temperature will continue to rise.)
Carefully remove the probe.
Cut the prime ribs into pieces or enjoy with your favorite side dishes.
