Equipment

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/4 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Large Egg
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk room temperature
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Frosting

  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 2 cups Icing Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp Cream
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Filling & Decoration

  • Raspberry Jam
  • Fresh Berry
  • Icing Sugar

Instructions

  • Grease two 9-inch round cake pans, line the bottoms with baking paper, and grease the tops. Alternatively, grease and flour the bottoms and sides of two cake pans.
  • Add flour and sugar to a mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix until combined. Add butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Beat with an electric hand mixer or stand mixer, scraping the bottom and sides of the bowl with a spatula as needed. Beat until batter is smooth, about one minute.
2 cup All Purpose Flour, 1 1/4 cup White Granulated Sugar, 3 Large Egg, 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, 1/2 cup Whole Milk, 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Divide cake batter among prepared cake pans. Pour about 50% full.
  • Remove the grill plate from the Typhur Dome 2 .
  • Carefully place the cake pan in the basket. Return the basket to the Typhur Dome 2.
  • Bake one first, and then repeat this step to bake another one.Temperature: 320 °F Time: 30 minutes
  • Remove the cake from the Typhur Dome 2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before carefully inverting the cake layers onto a cooling rack. Remove from the baking paper and allow to cool completely. If you find that the cake layers are sticking to the bottom of the pan, invert the cake pan and let gravity do its job.
  • Place all the frosting ingredients in a bowl and mix until frosting is light and fluffy and forms peaks.
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, 2 cups Icing Sugar, 3 tbsp Cream Cheese, room temperature, 2 tbsp Cream, 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Cut the cake in half and smooth it out if needed (it's best to use a cake smoother). Pipe a circle of frosting around the edge of the bottom cake. Fill the center of the cake with jam. Spread more frosting on top and smooth it out. Sandwich the top cake.
Raspberry Jam, Fresh Berry, 2 cups Icing Sugar
  • Spread a light amount of frosting over the top of the cake and garnish with fresh berries. Dust with frosting and serve.
